I'm retired (for now at least) and have interests in software development, digital photography and travel.
I’m an Aussie, originally from country Victoria but have also lived in Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide and Newcastle. I’ve been living in the USA for almost four years now; the first three years in Colorado and currently in northern Virginia.
I have owned cameras for much of my life but my interest in photography didn’t really take off until I bought my first digital camera, a Fujifilm S602Z, back in 2002. Soon afterwards, I began to dabble with an online photo gallery and since then I have become well and truly hooked!
In 2005 I bought a Canon EOS 350 Digital Rebel and have now discovered the advantages of shooting in raw format.
My current gear includes the Canon EOS 350 camera, Canon EF-S 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS USM lens, Canon EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS USM lens, Canon EF 100mm f2.8 macro and a Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens. Some UV and circular polarising filters complete the kit. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 for processing but I have also dabbled with Adobe Lightroom.
